Australian and New Zealand Fumigation

The Australian and New Zealand governments are issuing seasonal measures through their agriculture ministries to control the entry of Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) into these two countries via exported goods.
BMSB, which is a fast growing/spreading species, feeds on more than 100 plant species, including many agricultural products. With these aspects, the species is seen as a threat to the cultivation of agricultural products today. For example, due to the strain effect, apple growers in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States lost $37 million in 2010; some fruit growers lost more than 90% of their crops. To prevent BMSB from entering the continent, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment and New Zealand's Department of Essential Industries have implemented a joint Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers scheme. The Plan determines the requirements of the actions to be carried out by the companies providing the measures in the risk countries on the commercial goods that will reach Australia and/or New Zealand by ships between 1 September and 30 April, and the necessary conditions for these companies to be authorized measure providers.
Pestex Spraying and Fumigation Service. Trade Ltd. Sti. has become an authorized Offshore BMSB Treatment Provider company to carry out Heat Treatment and Methyl Bromide Fumigation processes for the 2022-23 season by meeting the plan requirements. Our company has taken its place in the list of authorized companies in Turkey with AEI number TR4041SB (link: https://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity-trade/import/before/brown-marmorated-stink-bugs/offshore- bmsb-treatment-providers-scheme/approved-list#turkey)
                                            Methods to Prevent BMSB
Three basic methods have been identified to prevent BMSB. These methods are:
                                            Methyl bromide fumigation
                                            Sulfur fluoride fumigation
                                            Heat treatment
Our company has been authorized to carry out methyl bromide and heat treatment methods in the 2022-23 season.
